"My friend Naim"by José Luis López Filmmaker achieves a new world milestone for its special educational values ​​and social awareness. Now it has been selected by Frontex to be screened in the framework of the "European Border and Coast Guard Day" that will be held in Poland during May 2018.

EBCG Day presents Europe’s border-guard community with an opportunity to share experiences and best practice. It provides a forum for topical discussion, exchange of views between key border-management players, and a platform to bring together the worlds of public service and private industry.

One of the event’s key objectives is to foster a community of EU border guardianship with shared values and priorities. Above all it is an expression of appreciation and celebration of Europe’s border-management authorities and their personnel.

I am proud and excited that this, my first short film, is being valued in all its dimensions and thus can help many people to become aware of important aspects such as solidarity and the defense of human rights.

"Mi amigo Naim" la película del director de cine José Luis López consigue un nuevo hito mundial por sus especiales valores educativos y de sensibilización social. En esta ocasión ha sido seleccionado por Frontex para ser proyectado en el marco de la Jornada “European Border and Coast Guard Day” que se celebrará en Polonia durante este mes de mayo 2018.

EBCG Day ofrece a la comunidad de guardias fronterizos de Europa la oportunidad de compartir experiencias y buenas prácticas. Proporciona un foro para la discusión actual, el intercambio de puntos de vista entre los principales actores de la gestión de fronteras, siendo una plataforma que reune servicio público e industria privada.

Uno de los objetivos clave del evento es fomentar una comunidad de custodia fronteriza de la UE con valores y prioridades compartidos. Sobre todo, es un día de celebración para las autoridades europeas y su personal por la buena y correcta gestión de las fronteras.

Me enorgullece y emociona que éste, mi primer cortometraje, este siendo valorado en toda su dimensión y así pueda ayudar a muchas personas a tomar conciencia de aspectos tan importantes como son la solidaridad y la defensa de los derechos humanos.

@MiAmigoNaim del director José Luis López Ortiz se ha proclamado vencedora de la XXVII edición de la Muestra de Cine Internacional de Palencia en la Sección "Cine y Escuela" . 
Más de 1700 niños y niñas de la provincia de Palencia de entre 9 y 11 años se han identificado con Alba y Naim. Ha sido especialmente interesante observar las reacciones del público infantil, del elenco de profesores de 27 escuelas y sobre todo poder responder a las interesantes preguntas formuladas por los más peques.

Cambiamos de continente. En esta ocasión “Mi amigo Naim” del director de cine español José Luis López Ortiz, viaja a La India

Después de 7 meses desde la finalización del cortometraje hemos obtenido 14 selecciones y dos premios como ganadores al mejor cortometraje, en Nápoles (Italia) y Los Angeles (USA).
Siendo sincero conmigo mismo, la sensación es de vertigo total.
Pero el camino continúa y hay que seguir caminando. En esta ocasión en Hyderabad (La India). Durante 4 días, del 1 al 4 de diciembre, esta ciudad, motor económico del pais conocida por albergar el HITEC City popularmente conocido como el Silicon Valley de la India, se convertirá en la sede del reputado Festival de cine Independiente “All Lights India International Film Festival”.

Y nosotros estaremos presentes como películas seleccionadas junto a 23 más de procedencias tan variadas como USA, Brazil, India, Sweden, Iran, Belgium, Cuba, Australia, Japan, France, Afghanistan, Taiwan y España.

Allí, a 10.000 Km de España, compartiremos cartelera con los compañeros de “The Whole World” de Julián Quintanilla con Loles León, que junto a “My friend Naim” de José Luis López, con Candela Moreno, Jesús Puchol y Roland Fosso, serán las dos únicas películas españolas seleccionadas para esta edición 2017.

Y felices y orgullosos como siempre, quiero, en nombre de todo el equipo, felicitar a los magnificos candidatos y desearles lo mejor. A fin de cuentas todos cumplimos un mismo objetivo…Hacer cine independiente que emocione y que en la medida de lo posible nos permita reflexionar sobre este mundo en el que vivimos y que compartimos.

Now we fly to other continent. On this occasion "My friend Naim" by José Luis López Fimmaker travels to India

After 7 months since the completion of the short film we have obtained 14 selections and two prizes as winners for the best short film, in Naples (Italy) and Los Angeles (USA).

Being honest with myself, the feeling is totally vertigo.

But the road continues and we must continue walking. This time in Hyderabad (India). For four days, from 1 to 4th December ,this city, the economic engine of the country known for hosting the HITEC  popularly known in the City as the Silicon Valley of India, will become the headquarters of the renowned Independent Film Festival "All Lights India International Film Festival ".

And we will be present as selected films along with 23 more from provenances as varied as USA, Brazil, India, Sweden, Iran, Belgium, Cuba, Australia, Japan, France, Afghanistan, Taiwan and Spain.

There, at 10,000 kilometers from Spain, we will share a billboard with the companions of "The Whole World" by Julián Quintanilla with Loles León, who along with "My friend Naim" by José Luis López, with Candela Moreno, Jesús Puchol and Roland Fosso, will be the only two Spanish films selected for this 2017 edition.

And happy and proud as always, I want, on behalf of the whole team, to congratulate the magnificent candidates and wish them the best. After all, we all have the same goal ... 120 cortometrajes de ficción compartirán cartelera con Mi amigo Naim del director de cine José Luis López en la 43 edición de FILMETS

Cerca de 250 cortometrajes se proyectarán en la Sección Oficial de la 43ª edición del FILMETS Badalona Film Festival, que se desarrollará del 20 al 29 de octubre

Por primera vez, los tres teatros municipales de la ciudad se convertirán en cine para presentar los cortos del festival.

“Mi amigo Naim” competirá en la sección oficial de cortos de ficción, alrededor de 120, junto a destacados referentes del panorama internacional.

La proyección de “Mi amigo Naim” tendrá lugar el viernes 27 de octubre de 19 a 21 horas en la sede del Teatre Zorrilla de Badalona.

Los espectadores de la 43ª edición del FILMETS Badalona Film Festival no sólo podrán ver en la gran pantalla películas que ya han sido galardonadas en otros certámenes de renombre, sino también actores y actrices de fama mundial. Es el caso de Claudia Cardinale, del corto ‘El Auveugle et la Cardinale’; Jane Birkin, con el corto ‘La femme et le TGV’; James Brolin del corto ‘A Beautiful Day’; Ed Asner, con el corto ‘Super Sex’; Cecilia Milocco con ‘Kommiteen; David Wenger, que fue actor principal en ‘Titanic’ y que en FILMETS se presenta con el corto ‘Blue Borsalino’; Fanny Ardant, con ‘The Session’; John Hurt con el corto ‘Break’; Isabelle Huppert con ‘Ce qui nous éloigne’; o los actores y actrices catalanes Francesc Orella, Lluís Marco, Nora Navas, Marta Marco y Miki Esparbé, entre otros.

Todos los miembros del jurado desarrollan tareas muy destacadas en el mundo cinematográfico. Almost 250 short films will be screened in the official section of the 43rd Edition of FILMETS BADALONA FILM FESTIVAL that will be held from 20-29 October 2017

For the first time in the history of the FILMETS festival, the three municipal theatres of Badalona will offer screenings of short films.

"My friend Naim" by José Luis López Filmmaker will compete in the official section of fiction shorts, about 120, along with outstanding figures on the international scene.

The screening of "My friend Naim" will be held on Friday, October 27, from 7 to 9 pm at the Teatre Zorrilla in Badalona.

The audience of the 43rd Edition FILMETS BADALONA FILM FESTIVAL will not only be able to see on the big screen films that have already been awarded in other prestigious festivals, but also world famous actors and actresses. Del 6 al 28 de Octubre “Mi amigo Naim” del director de cine José Luis López ha sido seleccionado como finalista nuevamente en el FIC ESMI AWARDS de Bella Vista - Buenos Aires (Argentina) en su 8ª edición.

El Festival Internacional del Cortometraje FIC fue concebido en el año 2009 por la Alianza Francesa de Bella Vista, con el fin de ofrecer un espacio de interacción entre cineastas argentinos y extranjeros, promover y premiar a nuevos talentos del Séptimo Arte del mundo entero, brindar nuevas propuestas al público cinéfilo, rendir homenaje a los orígenes del cine y recordar, a través de la estatuilla de premiación ESMI (ESTUDIOS SAN MIGUEL INTERNACIONAL), a los grandes estudios ubicados en Bella Vista, en donde se han filmado las producciones y coproducciones más importantes de América Latina en su época.

Este año @MiamigoNaim estará presente como finalista junto a films de cineastas de 76 paises.

From 6 to 28 October "MI amigo Naim" by José Luis López Filmmaker has been selected as a finalist again at the FIC ESMI AWARDS of Bella Vista - Buenos Aires (Argentina) in its 8th edition.

The INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL FIC was created in 2009 by the ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE of BELLA VISTA with the purpose of offering a space for interaction between national and international filmmakers, promoting and awarding prizes to new talents of the Seventh Art around the world, offer new experiences to film fans, honor the origins of filmmaking and remember, through the ESMI award trophy (San Miguel International Studios) the great filmmaking studios located in Bella Vista, where the most important productions and co-productions of that time in Latin America have been produced.

This year @MiamigoNaim will be present as a finalist alongside films by filmmakers from 76 countries.

Y en esta ocasión nuestros hermanos italianos han vuelto a apostar por la calidad, la sensibilidad y la atmósfera de esperanza de nuestro cortometraje “Mi amigo Naim” del director José Luis López.

Ahora será la Toscana el escenario ideal para la proyección del cortometraje “Mi amigo Naim”. La cita tendrá lugar del 21 al 26 de octubre próximo en el marco del Festival Internacional del cortometraje de Montecatini Terme en Florencia. Uno de los festivales más antiguos y respetados de Europa creado por la Federación Italiana de Cineclubs (Fedic) en el año 1949.

Allí competiremos por el máximo galardón junto a cineastas de la talla de Fernando Trullols, ganador de un premio Goya en 2012 y que en esta ocasión concurre con su excelente cortometraje “Marcianos de Marte”.

Una vez más hemos de agradecer el apoyo de todos aquellos que nos estáis siguiendo desde el inicio de esta bonita aventura, instituciones y empresas, y particulares que habéis creído en este film desde el minuto uno.

And now our Italian brothers have return to bet on the quality, the sensitivity and the atmosphere of our short film "My friend Naim" by José Luis López Filmmaker.

Now Tuscany will be the ideal stage to screening the short film "My friend Naim". The event will take place from October 21 to 26 in the framework of the Montecatini International Short Film Festival in Florence. One of the oldest and most prestigious festivals in Europe created by the Italian Federation of Cineclubs (Fedic) in 1949.

There we will compete for the top prize with filmmakers such as Fernando Trullols, winner of a Goya Award in 2012 and this time attend the event with his excellent short film "Martians of Mars".

Mi amigo Naim Winner at Social World Film Festival

On July 28 at 6:50 in the morning we board on the plane to Naples. In our suitcases a little clothes for three days, the white shirt, a bow tie and kilos of emotion.

We were one of the 25 finalists of the prestigious social film festival “Social World Film Festival".
The welcome and the stay at Vico Equense was fantastic. We felt at home at all times. That same afternoon was projected in the complex Monumental SS Trinita “My friend Naim” next to 12 short films more of an exceptional level of quality. At the end of the screening I had the pleasure of exposing, on this occasion using my little knowledge of Italian, details that mark the character of the short film.

But the great moment of our journey came the next day. In the course of the Awards Red Carpet Ceremony, the title of the short film winner of the 7th Edition was unveiled. “My friend Naim” ex aequo next to “Lurna” was proclaimed herself the winner and Claudia Cardinale, godmother of honor of the Ceremony testified to it.
One of those dreams that you would never want to wake up from sleep!

El 28 de julio a las 6.50 de la mañana cogíamos el avión rumbo a Nápoles. En nuestras maletas un poco de ropa para tres días, la camisa blana, una pajarita y kilos de emoción.

Éramos uno de los 25 finalistas del prestigioso festival de cine social Social World Film Festival.
La acogida y la estancia en Vico Equense fue fantástica. Nos sentimos como en casa en todo momento. Esa misma tarde se proyectaba en el complejo Monumental SS Trinita Mi amigo Naim junto a 12 cortos más de un nivel de calidad excepcional. Al finalizar la proyección tuve el placer de exponer, en esta ocasión haciendo uso de mis pequeños conocimientos de italiano, detalles que marcan el carácter del cortometraje. 

Pero el gran momento de nuestro viaje vino el dia siguiente. En el transcurso de la Gala de entrega de Premios se desvelo el título del cortometraje ganador de la 7ª Edición. Mi amigo Naim ex aequo junto a Lurna se había proclamado vencedor y Claudia Cardinale, madrina de honor de la Ceremonia dio fe de ello.

Uno de esos sueños de los que no querrías despertar nunca.

Tres meses después éramos finalistas en LACINEFEST

No era mi intención, pero así fue. Había tardado 20 años en dar el paso. Aun me pregunto ¿por qué? Y la respuesta siempre es la misma: La vida es mágica y te has de dejar guiar por tu instinto. Ahora comprendo que, no fue antes porque no era el momento. Y aquello que se hace por amor al arte se ha de hacer cuando crees que es necesario hacerlo. Nunca es demasiado pronto ni demasiado tarde.

Mi pretensión al realizar "Mi amigo Naim" era exteriorizar un sentimiento, un pensamiento y una preocupación, que pienso es la preocupación de muchas personas. Quien me iba a decir que ese acto tendría tanta repercusión.

No voy a ocultarlo, por supuesto me alegro de que así haya sido. Y me alegro por todos los que se han implicado en el proyecto de "Mi amigo Naim". Porque el éxito compartido, el éxito del grupo siempre tiene mejor sabor. A este mundo hemos venido para compartir. Y en gran medida la felicidad depende directamente de ese acto.

Así que hoy compartimos con vosotros esta noticia que de alguna forma también os pertenece. ¡Somos finalistas en LOS ANGELES CINE FEST!

SANT BOI WELCOMES THE PRESENTATION OF THE SHORT 'My friend Naim'

Yesterday Friday was the presentation in Sant Boi of the short film Mi amigo Naim, directed by santboià José Luis López. The film is a song to the friendship and the welcome and was selected to be part of the Catalog of Court Short Film Corner of Festival of Cannes 2017.

The presentation was attended by the mayor, Luisa Moret, the director of the short and the participating actors, Jesus Puchol, Candela Moreno and Roland Fosso. The mayor said that the short film is "a tool of projection of the city" and stressed its educational values. La presentación contó con la asistencia de la alcaldesa, Luisa Moret, el director del corto y los actores participantes, Jesús Puchol, Candela Moreno y Roland Fosso. La alcaldesa manifestó que el cortometraje es "una herramienta de proyección de la ciudad" y destacó sus valores educativos. Por su parte, el director de la obra, José Luis López, expresó su intención de utilizar el cortometraje como material educativo para las escuelas una vez finalice su presentación en los festivales de cine.

Summary and moral. Cannes is a great meeting point between filmmakers and the film industry. The tip of the Iceberg is the red carpet, the projections, the nominations and the awards show. But that which is below. What you do not get to see on TV is the title of this article.

If you have known how to take advantage of it, Cannes is the starting line of a marathon that you will have to complete with those who generously have wanted to dedicate to you a bit time and, like you, believe in the possibilities of your project.

It was definitely worth it!

Le he dado bastantes vueltas a la cabeza para buscar un titular para éste nuevo capítulo de nuestra aventura. Y creo que el más apropiado es el que encabeza este post "Todo empieza cuando acaba Cannes". Y os explico el por qué.

Evidentemente y como no podía ser de otra forma, el 22 de mayo cogimos el coche y nos hicimos los 655 Km. que separan Sant Boi de Llobregat, escenario de la película "Mi amigo Naim", de Cannes, esa conocida ciudad de la costa azul francesa, archiconocida por acoger el quizás Festival de Cine Internacional más importante del mundo.

El primer día dió para poco, ya que un problema con el coche nos retrasó la llegada hasta las 18:05 horas. A la carrera nos dirigimos al garito de acreditaciones y como era de esperar nos quedamos en la calle. A las 18:00 cierran puertas y es lo que hay, te guste o no.
Primer pensamiento: Me cachis en...... Segundo pensamiento: Nadie nos puede aguar la fiesta. Y es lo que hicimos: Un poco de callejeo, sentir la efervescencia del ambiente de la ciudad. Contemplar el desfile de vehículos de lujo que transportaban actores y productores a los estrenos de la alfombra roja. Una buena cena con amigos con los que habíamos quedado, y directos a nuestro bungalow. A 12 kilómetros, en el Camping Les Philippons teníamos nuestra base de operaciones, para dormir claro. Un lugar idílico en medio de un bosque de alcornoques. Lo mejor, el precio, 60 euros/noche. Vaya lujazo.

Y llegó el segundo día. A las 6:00 sonaba el despertador. A las 7:30 salíamos vestidos para la ocasión, desayuno continental de camino y a las 9:00 como un clavo, y después de franquear las estrictas medidas de seguridad, recogíamos nuestras acreditaciones. ¡Ya estábamos dentro!

Ese día y el siguiente lo destinamos a recorrer los miles de metros cuadrados que ocupa el Marché du Film, el Short Film Corner, las Carpas exteriores que se extienden por el puerto de Cannes, etc, etc.

A todo esto añadirle los talleres para profesionales por profesionales y asistir a las reuniones que préviamente habíamos concertado con personajes de la industria del cortometraje, buyers, programadores, distribuidores. Ah y muy importante. A partir de las 17 horas el trasiego se trasladaba a los cócteles que los diferentes pabellones de los paises asistentes promueven para facilitar el networking entre los invitados.

Resumen y moraleja. Cannes es un gran punto de encuentro entre cineastas y la industria del cine. La punta del Iceberg es la alfombra roja, las proyecciones, las nominaciones y la gala de entrega de premios. Pero aquello que hay por debajo. Lo que no se llega a ver por la tele es lo que da título a este artículo.

Si has sabido aprovecharlo Cannes es la línea de salida de una maratón que habrás de completar en compañía de aquellos que con generosidad han querido dedicarte un poco de su tiempo y, como tu, creen en las posibilidades de tu proyecto.

¡Sin lugar a dudas valió la pena!
