We just received the news!

We have been chosen for the Official Selection of the "Etranger Film Festival" an international festival of short films and full length movies, whose main aim is  promote and make visible the differences between cultures, facilitating the integration of the people in the territories from the respect to the coexistence between races, cultures and religions; Encouraging emerging international talents with original styles and forms of creation of movies.

Exultant with joy we follow our way next to Naim and Alba, closely followed by Adolph, our three protagonists.

And this time we will stop in Italy from June 8 to 11. And we will tell you our history

¡Acabamos de recibir la noticia! 

Hemos sido escogidos para la Selección Oficial del "Etranger Film Festival" un festival internacional de largometrajes y cortometrajes, cuyo principal objetivo es promover  y visibilizar las diferencias entre culturas, facilitando la integración de las personas en los territorios desde el respeto a la convivencia entre razas, culturas y religiones.

Exultantes de alegría seguimos nuestro camino junto a Naim y Alba, seguidos de cerca por Adolfo, nuestros tres protagonistas.

Y en esta ocasión haremos escala del 8 al 11 de junio en Italia. Y os iremos contando todo lo que sucede allí.

The 9 finalists of the official short film selection of Cannes 2017

At the end of April, we began preparations for our attendance at the Cannes International Film Festival, where "My friend Naim" will be in contact with the film industry around the world.

We were selected from 4843 short films from around the world and chose to be at the Short Film Corner alongside 1816 short films from around the world.

But this time we will not be among the 9 finalists. The Olympus is reserved for only a select few.
However as good athletes we will participate again the next year with a new short film that is already beginning to develop. For now disjointed ideas that go hand in hand without knowing exactly why.

The adventure continues in Cannes!

I take these lines to congratulate the 9 finalists of the official competition of this new edition of the 70th International Cannes Festival 2017. They will fight to get the longed for Palm of Gold.

In this edition the directors and the films have been:

Acabado el mes de Abril empezamos los preparativos para nuestra asistencia al Festival Internacional de Cine de Cannes, donde "Mi amigo Naim" entrará en contacto con la industria cinematográfica de todo el mundo.

Fuimos seleccionados de entre 4843 cortometrajes de todo el mundo y entramos en el short film corner junto a 1816 cortos destacados de todo el mundo.

Pero en esta ocasión no estaremos entre los 9 finalistas. El Olimpo está reservado solamente para unos pocos elegidos.
No obstante como buenos deportistas volveremos a participar el año que viene con un nuevo cortometraje que ya se empieza a gestar. De momento ideas inconexas que se van dándose la mano sin saber exáctamente el por qué.

¡La aventura continua en Cannes! 

Aprovecho estas lineas para felicitar a los 9 finalistas de la competición oficial de esta nueva edición del 70 Festival Internacional de Cannes 2017 que lucharán por conseguir la ansiada Palma de Oro.

Responding to the invitation of Pierre Lescure and Thierry Frémaux, the filmmaker said: 'I am very happy to be able to celebrate the Festival de Cannes 70th anniversary from such a privileged position. I am grateful, honoured and a bit overwhelmed. I am aware of the responsibility that entails being the president of the jury and I hope to be up to the job. I can only tell that I’ll devote myself, body and soul, to this task, that it is both a privilege and a pleasure.'

Tras aceptar la invitación de Pierre Lescure y Thierry Frémaux, el cineasta ha declarado: «Estoy muy contento poder celebrar el 70 aniversario del Festival de Cannes desde un lugar tan privilegiado. Me siento agradecido, honrado y un poco abrumado. Soy consciente de la responsabilidad que conlleva ser el presidente del jurado y espero estar a la altura. Solo puedo decir que me entregaré en cuerpo y alma a la tarea, que es a la vez un privilegio y un placer.

While other children played ball and ran along the streets, Jose Luis Lopez was a child who liked to observe everything that happened inside and outside his world.

Drawing, coloring, painting, constructing and photographing, from time to time, with his father's "Werlisa Mat" camera, were part of the everyday doing that would somehow mark the rest of his career as an artist.

A degree in Fine Arts, a degree in audiovisual production and a Master's degree in marketing and communication, José Luis has developed his entire career as an advertising creative, audiovisual producer and press editor. And founded in 2008 the paper and online magazine CARAKTER CIUTADÀ.

Many years ago José Luis lay aside the brushes and the color palette, but these have accompanied in silent for the rest of his life. The lights, the cameras, the publicity and the publishing world have been able to fill the void all these years. But there is always something inside the artist people that keeps him expectant, attentive to the dictates of his heart.

Now with 52 years old José Luis jump to the big screen with his "Opera Prima" - My friend Naim - a short film that distills concerns and acquired experiences:
The antechamber to the film that awaits patient in the drawer of the soul.

Mientras otros niños jugaban a pelota y correteaban por las calles, José Luis López era un niño al que le gustaba observar todo aquello que sucedía dentro y fuera de su mundo.

Dibujar, colorear, pintar, construir y fotografiar con la Werlisa Mat, que de tanto en tanto, le dejaba utilizar su padre, formaron parte del hacer cotidiano que de alguna manera iba a marcar el resto de su carrera como artista.

Licenciado en Bellas Artes, diplomado en realización audiovisual y Master en marketing y comunicación, José Luis ha desarrollado toda su carrera como creativo publicitario, realizador audiovisual y redactor editorial, fundando en 2008 la redacción del magazine en papel y on-line CARAKTER CIUTADÀ.

José Luis abandonó hace muchos años los pinceles y la paleta de colores, pero éstos le han acompañado en silencio toda su vida. Las luces, las cámaras, la publicidad y el mundo editorial han sabido llenar el vacío todos estos años. Pero siempre hay algo dentro del artista que lo hace mantenerse en vilo, atento a los dictámenes de su corazón.

Ahora con 52 años José Luis da el salto a la gran pantalla con su "Opera Prima" -Mi amigo Naim- un cortometraje que destila inquietudes y experiencias adquiridas: 
El antecesor a ese largometraje que aguarda paciente en el cajón del alma.
